Dennis Webb has announced his candidacy for mayor of Bell Buckle in the Aug. 3 town election.
Webb has served as an alderman for two years and has been involved in all aspects of town government. He and his wife Carla have been residents of the town since 1995.
Webb works in management with State Farm Insurance Companies. he is a member of Bell Buckle Baptist Church, where he teaches an adult Sunday School class and is song leader.
"I am excited about working for the citizens of Bell Buckle," said Webb. It is the citizens' town, and their vision of Bell Buckle's future should matter the most to the mayor and Board of Aldermen.
"Bell Buckle is a great community that needs to maintain its small town atmosphere, its historic downtown and its quality of life. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen must address Bell Buckle's water and sewer issues, put together a quality land use plan for the future, and ensure a safe environment at all levels for our citizens.
"The role of mayor is one that requires leadership. A leader should inspire and motivate the Board of Aldermen to work toward the goals set by the Bell Buckle community. I believe I am that leader and qualified to be mayor. I also believe Bell Buckle has a great future."
